I don't care! Snipereborn isn't my real name either. I'll still use it as a pointer.

Am I the only one who wouldn't want someone making a topic for my introduction to the interguild? I'm the type of guy that would rather start off with casual posts and chatbox discussions. I personally would feel that having my own topic would set my expectations as a new member too high or something.

Regardless, welcome Savi..? I hope we get to see her again outside of the chatbox, or else Cedric would look very silly for making this topic. Also, I thought that cedric made the original dansh topic, but that was actually shos. I still can't help shake the feeling that cedric made one of these types of topics before, despite my inability to find any such topic.

Dansh 2

I think people should make their own welcome topic if they want one, and otherwise just begin...

I invited several friends who never stayed active, but before the Dansh incident. Does Noah count as a Dansh 2? Although he was really active until Thomas started complaining about North Korea being corrupt.

This is not true. I was complaining about the United States being corrupt; partly because of SOPA which was a popular topic at the time. Next, Noah was not active, it took over a month and a half before the first post on the forums appeared from that account. Here are the link to the (only 12) posts from Noah which are in no special order:

Finally, his activity came after I was complaining about political corruption, etc. I remember on the day of the superbowl (February 5, 2012), I made some comments in the chat box suggesting that Americans are fat (apparently Americans eat a lot of food on Superbowl Sunday) then Noah said "I never chat here but I happened to read over the chatbox today and I would like to rub the fact that the Giants beat the Patriots in Curvy's rude face." As you can see, all this posts are dated more than two weeks later.

Also don't even try to blame me for Noah's decision to leave. He could have handled this in a mature manner but instead HE decided to do the immature "I'm never coming back" thing (he later came back) and sent a bunch of crap to my PM inbox before leaving.

Yeah, I don't remember exactly what transpired, but this is what I remember happening: Noah lashed out against Thomas one day in the chatbox for something he said, but this time Thomas wasn't actually in the wrong, and Isa tried to get Noah to calm, but he apparently wouldn't let it go, so Isa chatbox banned him for like 10 minutes. He got upset with that and left.

But, no, Noah =/= Dansh 2, because:
1. He was active for a while
2. I can't find a topic that you made for him

Okay it was not specifically North Korea but you got the idea. (hey that rhymes!)

You know, high activity isn't primarily based on long-term periods of time, it could also be based on short-term periods. You're right, he did not post a lot especially for the short timespan he was online in, but he did come on almost everyday for a week or two which is pretty active if you ask me.

Was the "Americans are fat" thing all that necessary? Yes, a majority of Americans eat a lot of sugar-and-fat-stuffed foods but that doesn't mean you have rights to go around insulting obese (and skinny, for that matter) Americans. Heck, don't go around stating unnecessary facts that can otherwise be insulting to some races, religions or big/small groups of people.

Actually, yes, I'm pretty sure it was your fault that he left. Don't go against what I just said, because you yourself heard what he said through the PMs he sent you.

Lastly, please refrain from complaining about corrupt governments or even the Canucks losing, especially if there are more that two people begging you to stop as many times as you ramble on about it. We've asked you several times before and were keeping our fingers crossed that we don't have to ask again.

I hope I made myself clear.

Quirvy, here are the records from the chat box on that night if you want to see: http://i45.tinypic.com/2vhywd4.jpg

Noah posted the URL to an image which said "Nobody gives a f***" (not censored). Yaya said a few posts last that he understood Noah's frustration but I talked to Yaya at a later date and he thought that youtube URL was a canucks URL when it was actually video game music. I'm not sure if Yaya's words would have changed had he known it was not a canucks URL. Then Noah left and sent me a PM asking me to have a bath in maple syrup or something.

Wow, okay, first of all, I find it extremely weird that you randomly have that chatbox conversation archived.

My stance on it: Both were wrong

Noah started this with a random attack at Thomas, and refused to let it go
Thomas helped continue the argument by attacking Noah as his "defense", instead of peacefully defending himself

Ultimately, Noah is more accountable since he was the one to start it (and he was acting a little bit more out of line), but Thomas, you should still be embarrassed by the way you handled that. You weren't even trying to diffuse the situation. You were treating it instead as a competition between you and Noah that you wanted to win ("Yeah? Lets see who gets chatbox banned first.")

Had I been in Isa's position, I would have either chatbox banned both of them, or neither and instead just told them to both shut up (which probably would have failed which would have led me to chatbox banning both of them anyways). If someone else sets a house on fire, and you proceed to douse it in gasoline, just because you didn't start the fire doesn't mean that you should get a free pass. Noah started it, and was acting worse than Thomas, but let it be known that phrases such as "I don't take (attempted) insults from members lower than me on the member respect spectrum" do NOT help diffuse arguments, but instead escalate them.

Also, pretty much everything that you said, Cedric ,about his behavior, was already brought to his attention in much more detail, and he's reacted accordingly and has improved his chatbox behavior a lot since:

-He still mentions the Canucks every once in a while, but there's nothing wrong with occasionally posting about something you're interested in that others might not be so interested in.
-Although he does over use the word "corrupt", he's not doing it so much that it's become a problem
-American stereotype references have been few and far between

The one problem that I think Thomas needs to work on, is that I still think he reacts too aggressively when he views others in the wrong. (edit immediately after posting: Okay, so he should also probably learn to use the URL tags, because I think it's annoying when he posts giant links in the chatbox)

I'm mentioning those things because you're targeted those 3 areas as things that he needs to improve on. But he already has. You're just antagonizing him a bit too much, and as a result you probably didn't realize that he's actually made progress and has become a much better chatbox poster than he was ~6 months ago.

This post feels really weird, but whatever. Awkward post end.
