Goddammit! Every time I have 1 unread topic to read, by the time that page loads, there's one more to read. I guess the Interguild being active has it's consequences, lol.

Would you prefer to have an unread topic, reply to it, and then refresh the page to see no new posts for the next 25 minutes?

Now what would be really annoying is if the interguild was so active that so many posts were going through that you couldn't actually post anything because the "Warning: New posts have been made to this topic." page would show up every time you hit "Post Reply"

This is kind of ironic because it's happened to me twice now, first Livio, now Jorster's post. In fact Jorster already has -1 karma on this post of his.

okay, so it appears to be based off of the current URL. If you make a post, the reason the page gets updated is because the URL has stuff in it that makes you scroll down to that post. But if you view the page strictly with only the topic id and page number in the URL, then you post, and then go back to the id and page number only URL again, it'll look as if you never made a post. Ctrl+F5 seems to fix it, though.

So one thing that could fix the chat box and recent posts thing is if the reload button added a random number to the reload URL. Maybe that number could be the current timestamp.

What about figuring out why the pages aren't automatically updating themselves, and fixing that?

It's probably got something to do with the server. I'll have to ask my dad about it when he gets home in a few hours. In the meantime, I already put up those fixes in the chatbox and recent posts pages to make the interguild more bearable.
