Cool, so how are we scoring the overall pentathlon? Jell? Isa? Jazz? Dando? Anyone have any suggestions?

Have those rounds count for 3/5th of the normal rounds?

I don't quite get what you're saying.

The pentathlon scoring is not really going to matter though, in the big picture. After the last round these are our points:

CSD's Team: 27
Great Lakes: 26
Purple Okapis: 12

CSD's Team did better in the pents than the great lakes, and the okapis aren't going to catch up to anyone(nor did they do that particularly well in the pents, anyways), so assuming the pentathlon scoring is about what I think it is, we've pretty much got our team placements already.

Just add them all up.

Or, just find the average score of the pentathlon and add it to the rest? I dunno?

Wanna just add 3 points to the winning pent team, 2 for second and 1 for third? In that case we'd end up with 30, 28 and 13.

It'll make no difference anyways. Just do it.

My suggestion was instead of having each Pentathlon round give as many points as the other rounds, only have the Pentathlon rounds give 0.6 times as many points.

I would have thought that the pentathlons would be more important than the normal rounds

Our forum mostly consists of:

Me, Livio, and others discussing possible names
Me and Livio discussing our minecraft monument
Me, Livio, Soccerboy trying to figure out what to do with the Collab

And then there's some other random chatter here and there.


So while we're waiting for Livio, someone come up with what to do with the pents, implement it, and post final scores.

The only time a team didn't enter into a comp was the minecraft comp, the offenders being the purple okapis.

Their failure was partially due to the server going down before the extended version of the comp ended. Additionally had they created a tall pole and called it a monument, they would have received 1 point for third place, so they punished themselves by not entering. Additionally, they are far behind everyone else, so at this point punishing them would be adding insult to injury, they're screwed enough as it is.

The pentathlon rounds should each be factored in just like any other round in the IO. However, the final pentathlon rankings should be factored in as if they too were just another IO round. How did you guys come up with the scoring again?

3 points for first, 2 for second, 1 for third.

I'm not going to come up with the actual stats for this, but CSD's team won the pents, we came in second, and the purple okapis in third. I know cuz I looked at how the teams did in the pents a while ago.

That would make it:

Great Lakes: 28

Alright, I published all of the results and handed out trophies for each comp. I did not, however, hand out trophies for the bigger things (like the final Pent rankings, or Best Player Rankings). I have to go to class now. If you want, maybe you can write the news post and I'll give out the fancy trophies later.
