Push Pops are inferior because they have a special plastic container which adds to their price. Tootsie Pops and Blow Pops are very similar in size and shape, but I prefer Blow Pops because they have gum in the center which enhances the experience greatly, allowing for me to chew longer, while Tootsie Pops just have chocolate in the center which doesn't last very long.

Tootsie Pops are the best.  Push Pops are overpriced, so they suck.  Blow Pops are nice because of the gum in the center, but I like Tootsie Pops better because they have a Tootsie Roll in the middle, not just the ordinary chocolate that atvelonis describes.

I would rather have gum than a tootsie roll, so I choose Blow Pop.

I would rather just drink a crapton of orange juice. I drink about two gallons a week while reading or watching TV or something.

*Crawls through sophisticated security system that only allows Krotomo, Atvelonis, and Mymop to post in this thread*

Level grind with iron daggers. Go to a hold, buy all their iron and leather strips, make a bunch of daggers, move to another hold, do the same thing, repeat; do it enough until the shops in the first hold that you did it at restock. You're gonna need to make a lot of iron daggers, but it's probably the most cost effective and cheapest way to do it. And don't forget the various books in game that may cause you to gain a level by reading it. You can try selling the iron daggers, but you'll have a hard time getting them all because of the sheer quantity, or you could try dropping them. What I recommend is saving as many as you can and then use then as enchanting fodder when you decide to level up that skill.

I found this method

more helpful than creating iron daggers.

I've never heard of that method before, but it looks fairly efficient.

Anyway, I used my own method for getting up the Smithing skill. It's like the iron dagger method, but more efficient. First, you gather as much metal OF ANY SORT as you possibly can. It doesn't matter how you get it, but purchasing it from merchants in cities works well if you have the coin. On your travels, be sure to keep any ores and ingots and gems you find or mine. In addition to the metal, you need a lot of leather strips and gems. Next, go to a city and smelt all the ores into ingots, and craft any hides you have into leather strips. Then go to the forge. When you select an item to craft, it tells you how much said item is worth. ALWAYS craft the most valuable one you can make, because the more it's worth, the MORE your Smithing skill goes up. After you run out of materials to craft with, walk over to the blacksmith and sell them what you've made. They won't have enough money to buy all of it so go around to other merchants too and sell your stuff to them. If all the merchants run out of money, wait 24 hours 3 times and their gold supply will return to normal. Continue selling your stuff to them.

Now that you have a massive amount of gold, go back to the shopkeepers and buy ores, ingots, gems, and leather. Keep doing what you did before until your Smithing is at 100.

You can also go to various NPCs who are willing to train you in Smithing. It can cost a lot of money, but they will get your Smithing skill up really quickly, if you have the coin. A few blacksmiths are sure to give you the option. I would recommend you do this whenever possible (5 times per level) because it takes a matter of seconds.

Atvelonis, could you give me a list of Smithing skill training NPCs? I already know about Gray-Mane in Whiterun.

There are 3, as far as I know. There is Eorlund Grey-Mane in Whiterun who you already know about. In Riften, as mymop said, the blacksmith Balimund is a Smithing trainer. He's usually at his forge. Lastly there is Ghorza, in Markarth. I'm pretty sure she's the Orc with the shop over the stream. She's kind of tough to find sometimes, but if she's not at her forge she will probably be wandering the streets or at the inn. IMO Eorlund Grey-Mane is the best, but only because he is in Whiterun. The city's central location makes it a good place to stop by and do stuff like train or trade. But if you happen to be in Riften or Markarth, go to Balimund or Ghorza, respectively.

If you want to enchant whatever weapon or piece of armor you make, I know of 3 NPCs who offer training in Enchanting. There is Sergius Turrianus at the College of Winterhold, who I usually find sleeping or pacing the halls. That's all anyone does in the College. There is also the priestess Hamal, in Markarth. She hangs out in the innermost area of the Temple of Dibella, and to gain legal entry to that place you need to complete a quest: The Heart of Dibella. To start the quest I believe you have to talk to this guy in the Warrens named Degaine, who will tell you to steal something from the temple. Go in and purposely get caught, and Hamal will send you on the quest. Lastly there is Neloth, in Solstheim. He lives in Tel Mithryn, the mushroom city east of Raven Rock. So if you happen to be in Solstheim he is the guy to go to for Enchanting training.

Thanks for the help.

Also, dragon bones and scales. How many of them are worth keeping? What are they used for? Will I have an essentially infinite supply of them?

Both can be used to make dragon armor (scales light and bones heavy) and weapons... when you have 100 smithing. So you'll be hanging onto them for a while if you want to use them. Odds are by the time you have a high enough smithing level to make it and heavy/light armor level to wear it, you'll already your preferred setup and weaponry figured out, and when they contain things like fancy enchantments or quest items, it's hard to find a reason to use generally made armor. Daedric armor is better than stats-wise than dragonbone armor, but I'm pretty sure dragonscale armor is the best in the game.

Still, I don't think they're that urgent to hold onto, I'd sell when able until you need them, and if you come up short when you finally want to make some, go kill some more dragons.

Dragonscale is a good choice if you prefer Light Armor over Heavy Armor. It's about the same as Dragonbone Armor. I personally don't like how Dragonbone/Dragonscale Armor looks, so I go with Daedric. Daedric Armor has the same stats as Dragonbone Armor, and it looks totally freaking awesome! It also doesn't need Level 100 Smithing, only 90, which makes it significantly easier to acquire compared to Dragonbone. If you want Daedric Armor, start collecting Ebony ingots and keep any Daedra Hearts you find.

By the way, if the weight of any Heavy Armor is a problem, there is a Heavy Armor perk which prevents Heavy Armor from weighing you down. I forget what it's called, but it's on the left column of perks for a Heavy Armor. It's either the farthest up or second-farthest up.

The perk is called Conditioning and requires the Heavy Armor skill to be 70, if I remember correctly.
