I'm not against getting rid of it, I just think overall the absence of it made almost little to no difference on our acquisition of new members. But admittedly the RRB reddit is a new variable, and you guys sure have been pumping out levels for it. I don't see it making that much of a difference, but I could see possibly 1-2 people checking out the site (not joining, but just clicking on a link to the site) if the subreddit is big enough.

That being said, you'd have to get Livio or Bmwsu to come on in order to dismantle it. And in a bizarre turn of events, Livio has actually been on more recently than Bmwsu, who has seemed to mysteriously disappear except for coming on Steam occasionally (usually while I'm asleep, so I haven't been able to catch him). Both are approaching 3 weeks in terms of not being on

Still, in the event that approval system is removed, and something bad does end up happening, that'll just mean more work for Livio/Bmwsu, so it'll probably be their final decision. I know the poll calls it the staff approval system, but those two are the only ones that can do anything with it

I'm not a programmer, but I can't imagine that it would be that complicated to get rid of. I assume that Livio/Bmwsu's only fears are that the Clique will return if it gets removed.

By the way, does a new member need to have a friend within the Interguild to get approved, or do they just have to not be Thomas/Jorster/Darvince?

It is the latter, it's just that the last few new members/ones who can't join because of the approval system are member's friends because we have no viable form of recruitment.

So considering the poll are the admins going to get rid of the staff approval?

I would like to join also. I don't think I've ever done a collaborative project other than Myimmia, and in that Yimmy just built his house and an amusement park, and then stopped working on the city.

It's the way of the Yimmy. Build a house, then leave and never come back. Except for that one thing mymop demolished

Would you guys rather this be a big project (e.g. a town) or a smaller one? If everyone who wants to do it stays committed, I think it would be entirely feasible to attempt something large-scale.

I can help too. I probably won't offer too much creative input, but I can help with any of the actual building stuff you guys need done (which I'm not sure how much help that'll be since I don't have WE).

So, let's just throw in some random ideas, and I'll make a monster-poll for it.

riverside town
spaceship
arena
castle city
underground base
underwater city

Here are some various ideas:

canal-based city; like Venice or Amsterdam
medieval city
jungle town (i.e. in the actual trees, not on the ground)
giant creeper
mountain town (sort of like Markarth; literally built into a mountain)
space station & spaceship
giant okapi
goat statue

TALK THREAD UPDATE

The poll to get rid of the staff approval system won for removing it 8-0.
There's 3 more days for suggestions for the Minecraft project.
New poll about whether Jorster, Darvince and Thomas should be unbanned.

Minecraft ideas:

an actual library (with actual written books)
island fortress (on an island on a lake or something)
big monastery
spleef arena (not a giant square/rectangle; multiple floors)

-----

It's no secret that I like the Clique a lot. I would be perfectly happy if they were given access to the site again. Problem is, I'm not Livio, and a decision like this is ultimately his. And I find it highly unlikely that Livio will pardon them anytime soon.

You know, we don't have to limit ourselves to just one project. This could be an ongoing thing where we all team up to work on large creations.
