Lately I've been trying to learn useful stuff about the Interguild through Google Analytics because of this class I'm taking on web analytics.
I don't know if I posted this anywhere, but we had to huge spike in hits on March 11, 2011 of people looking for a HATKC guide, and they found CSD's awesome blog post with all the videos embedded in it. Maybe neo came out with an avatar on that day or something.
What I don't understand is what's with our most popular keywords when people find us on google.
The top one is understandable: "interguild", and it gave us about 4,000 visits in the past year. But after that, we get so little search engine traffic that anything could end up on the top ten keywords.
In second place is "jellsprout interguild zombie", which was apparently one of the most popular search queries during June and July? And most of these guys just ended up landing on the homepage anyway? Almost 800 visits came from that.
In third place we have "dandonovitch", which gave us 600 visits in the past year. Most of these happened during late December and early January, and almost everyone who searched that was brought to the homepage.
The next two are "hatpc" and "hannah and the pirate caves". As it should be.
But guess what's next: "farmer dandonovitch".
Then it's "hatpc won't work", which is okay...
But then: "site:interguild.org "if you have two left"" That will only bring you one search result: this post by Isa (???????)
And finally, in 10th place is "site:interguild.org bits water", which oddly just brought everyone to the forum index. I don't even know what they were trying to find. | | Thomas |

While writing that post I had a vague memory that I had done a stats blog post before, but I could barely remember what it was. I guess it would be interesting to see how the stats have changed in a little over a year. | | Livio |

**** finding page 63 lol, that's nearly the exact middle of this topic. And besides URL manipulation, there's no easy way to access these sandwiched pages. Despite myself hating the game itself, Runescape's forums have this cool feature where there's a little box you can type the page number in and it'll take you there .

But Isa, moving the mouse over the link, then clicking on the link, and then SCROLLING to READ the posts is way too much WORK!

This article makes me laugh harder every time I read it, not only is the subject rather humorous, but it's written pretty poorly.
Don't read this unless you've read the article. If you read prematurely, it may seem out of context and perverted, lol:

I went to P.F Changs for dinner and brought home my chopsticks. Best act of petty theft ever on my part . Now, if I'm ever homeless, I can bang them on random things for chump change.

So now my dad claims that because there are SO many (31) desktop icons, that slows down the boot up. Guess what? That stuff is some of the first to load, and it has no problem loading. It takes forever to start all the programs on boot up.
EDIT: Oh yeah. He also is against me putting any more shortcuts on the desktop on my account. Well SORRY if I don't want to look for the .exe for Word and PowerPoint in Program Files, instead of simply clicking on a shortcut.

My Windows desktop has 6 shortcuts. My Computer, Trash Can, a Games folder, a Music folder, a Science folder and a Stuff folder for anything else. I find it much more efficient than icons crawling all over my screen.
In my Ubuntu desktop I don't have anything in my desktop. My folders, Terminal, Firefox, Pidgin, Thunderbird and Gimp can be accessed from the sidebar and everything takes literally under a second to find with the Application search option.

Only problem is that any shortcut I delete off my desktop is deleted off every other account. If I was to get rid off all the ones I wanted to, I'd get a big "Don't be messing with the computer!"
