They still don't look quite right to me. I think the artwork is pretty good, it's just not what I had imagined. Maybe I'll try something...
Probably b/c HATPC only has wooden arrow crates. It could be that neo thought the arrow steel looked ugly so they abondoned it. (Or they didn't feel like coding one)
I think that there should be scenery tiles. I've seen only work on things like crates and arrows and other stuff that has some kind of use. I think one mistake hatpc had is it had no scenery tiles! Scenery tiles should do absolutely nothing. they should be like in mario where there are trees, fences, grass and stuff. I think we should, for our game, add stuff like cannons, machines, skeletons, broken stuff like broken glass and pieces of broken buildings, ice, and so on to make the game better.
Regarding the actual scenery, I don't know if we want things that look like it could be "real" enemies, like cannons for example. I think this is an area where one could easily make custom content, though, which is why I really like it.
I think we should be able to make custom content too. But it should also be much simpler to add custom scenery or whatever also, unlike SMW.
yeah I have big plans for custom content.........
one possible "glitch"/exploit that I foresee is that people might start using the custom options in order to place tiles on the same block as other tiles, by changing its position settings. And maybe for small maps, they'll even place those tiles outside of the level grid in the level code (by manually changing the level's width and height numbers in the level code), but the custom settings will place them inside the playable area when you go play the level. so many possibilities
As for scenery tiles, here's one bit of advice: don't make them stand out too much. One thing I hate about scenery tiles is that you can't tell whether that object is really there, or if it's part of the background. It's so annoying...
