How do we know you're not just saying that so we won't bother investigating you? That's very suspicious.


Also note here that although "vite" may, at first glance, appear to simply be a misspelling of "vote", it also happens to be the French word for fast. Clearly, Yimmy is encouraging us to kill quickly, rather than waiting to see evidence of people's guilt.

I vote that we kill them both. (If it's not allowed to kill more than one person per day then my vote is against Isa, and then perhaps we'll kill Yimmy on the next day.)  

Or possibly what Isa said was an attempt at an excuse for possible investigations, proclaiming your excuse before actually being affected. Either way, first post is a very strange time to reveal role

also, I would believe that Darvince has a Jester-esque role (win if you get executed) but there's no neutrals, could have a role with benefits upon attempted lynching? doesn't show obvious signs of either side, but it's clear he would like to either be executed, or have people believe he wants to be executed.

like isa's question, this might make sense under a role condition, but dar might not be able to even talk about it if he does.

regarding isa's post, proclaiming miller seems anywhere from normal to a bit odd for 1st post.
on one hand, this is the only role that might make sense to claim early on. on the other, if he is not the miller, he is likely scum.  

i'm more inclined to believe that this is just meant so that the cop doesn't investigate him.
at this point, if a cop were to investigate him, it really wouldn't tell anything because of the claim.
i'm kind of confused as to why you chose to claim right off the bat.

rocketguy, i agree that dar's post is odd, but it's also hard to tell if this is just dar being dar.... if this pattern persists, i could see you being on the right track.

the only way to find out whether im bluffing or not is to lynch me (im assuming there's no role investigator), but let's be honest: the one time i was mafia here i was in cruise control and mafia won without getting any member KOd. if i want to win as mafia there's no point for me in claiming a role that increases the odds of me getting lynched. i hold/used to hold significant sway within this community and in this game, so why risk things?

you can check my debate with shos from the mafia game i hosted about town roles that are negative for town - i argued that they should be claimed in full back then and i still hold that to be true. thats also why i asked darvince if he has a posting restriction, his way of posting led me to believe something of the kind, and if he does we'd be better off knowing.

claiming miller prevents our cop from wasting an investigation on me. if i'm investigated (which isn't unlikely), i'd be lynched on the spot and town would be significantly worse off. if you decide to lynch me (which is fair), at least there won't be a wasted cop ability involved.

it definitely falls in line with your past history, but there's also an incredibly limited cast of experienced players right now. the way i see it, because of the sway you have, you could just as likely be trying to mix up your playstyle and use that previous respect to make sure no one would go after you. because of the lack of experience here, we're gonna have to talk about your role, and it might be a bit convoluted. overall, i'm inclined to believe you for the very reasons that you stated, but we still have talk about it.

Hi. I made that post because I wanted to get thru the random voting stage faster. I have no posting restrictions placed on me.

Isa's role claim gives us quite a bit of information because of the lack of neutral roles in this game, so I trust the claim because doing it for some reverse psychological benefit would be nullified by people being suspicious of the claim, which means that it is somewhat risky to do so, and will only have benefits if people trust the role claim, but if people trust the role claim, then he could do it to take advantage of the trust in his claim, which would mean he could take advantage of the claim, which would mean people would be suspicious of his claim, which would mean taking the chance was risky, which would mean people should trust the claim, which would mean he could take advantage of the claim....

Whatever. I could keep going forever down the chain. I give it a 2/3 chance of being correct because I think the risk is greater than the reward.

Is it really that strange to reveal his role early on? If he's truly the miller, then great, now the cop doesn't have to bother with him. If he isn't the miller, all that he's done is draw attention to himself in a poorly-disguised attempt to draw attention away from himself, and I think Isa is experienced enough to recognize the silliness of that.

That said, it's possible that he's revealing himself right now so that, by the time the 28th swings around, we've all moved on and forgotten about anything potentially incriminating he's said previously, as more recent posts are in the front of our minds. At this point I can't really make a judgment on anything, but it's something to consider.

I vaguely remember another game played on here where I think he had the same role and claimed the same or similar way, but I may be mistaken

claiming miller first post is the optimal move if you are a miller. any other time it'd seem like a bad excuse to defend yourself. I don't think it really hints toward his alignment at all

Another note, I just did some searching and in pokemon mafia also run by Shos Isa was a miller, and said almost the exact same thing as he did in this game. Take from that what you will
