Now, what would you guys say about kakapos and sheep? What are bad or good about each animal? I personally like the sounds that sheep make- they are soothing to the ear.

We can talk in real life, this is simply easier.

First of all, this is more convenient than meeting in real life.

Second, we don't have to be online at the same time to have a conversation. I can post something now, and three days from now someone else can respond to it.

Yes.  Also, I am in a different grade than Atvelonis and Kro IRL, so I rarely have a chance to talk to Kro IRL.  Also, creating a topic like this allows us to think about what we discuss in detail, since, as Kro stated, we do not all have to be online at the sametime to have a discussion.

I am personally a Kakapo person. They are, as krotomo has said in the past, "The guinea pigs of birds". No natural defenses, bright green, super awesome...

The piercing shriek they make is hilarious.

Sheep are a close second. This site is the ultimate sheep website. Sheep are wonderful creatures. Their wool is fluffy and their horns are fabulous. Their majesty is unsurpassed by any 4-legged furry animal that eats tons of grass. In my many travels I have had the honor of gazing upon sheep multiple times.

Sheep are by far superior to kakapos.  Their horns are majestic and their wool is nearly as good-looking as a cat's fur.  Their bleating is among the most pleasurable sounds in the world.

Kakapos, however, are just useless birds.  If I'm not mistaken, they're even flightless.  What's the point of being a bird if you can't fly?

I agree with you that a sheep's bleating is a wonderful sound, however the Kakapo's screech is far more entertaining.

Kakapos are flightless, but that makes them funnier. Their appearance combined with their lack of abilities makes them superior to sheep. There are also only 65 Kakapos in the wild, so you should be honored if you ever get to meet one. Sheep, however, are extremely common around the world. (In New Zealand the population of sheep outmatches humans 3-1)

The far greater number of sheep is a way that you can identify their superiority.  Kakapos' lack of abilities makes you think thoughts like, "How the hack does this bird survive?  Kakapos are so dumb."  The horrible screech a kakapo makes is ear-rending but silly, which is one of the reasons for kakapos' inferiority to sheep.

So guys, what about this creature?

Ah yes, the Oʻahu ʻŌʻō. One of my favorite creatures. Although extinct, the Oʻahu ʻŌʻō has a very unusual name, which is pretty much the only reason it's totally freakish awesome other than the fact that they were probably the kings of the canopy when they were alive.

AWWW YEAH, Sheep made the list! Unfortunately, it seems that the kakapo, being a parrot, has a higher intelligence. I say it's RIGGED.

New poll! Kakapos or guinea pigs, which would you own?

I have to say, keeping a Kakapo as a pet would be pretty cool. I like parrots and apparently they can become lifetime friends to their owners, and a Kakapo probably isn't much different. I can just imagine taking walks in the park and on the beach with my majestic Kakapo resting on my shoulder, making its glorious screech as other people walk by, digging its beautiful claws into my shoulder, and occasionally hopping down the the ground to peck small children to death. That sounds truly wonderful.

I have taken care of a guinea pig in the past and wow, they are a lot of work. I guess if someone else took care of it I would gladly get one. I just don't like cleaning up its poop all the time. Besides, my cats kept trying to eat it.  

I agree; a kakapo would be more interesting, but having both would be AWESOME.

Having both would be great; kakapos would make good cat food, and guinea pigs would be perfect for mad scientist experiments.

The mighty Kakapo would easily peck any puny cat to death. (Not cocomo though cocomo is goddess)

Cats, being supreme among living creatures, could easily shred a pathetic kakapo with its mighty razor-sharp claws or bite the kakapo's head off with its powerful jaws.  You can tell that this is true because it rhymes.
A cat could just as easily do the same to a ferret.

Do you guys think that alien life exists?  If so, do you think it is sort of common or extremely rare?

I do believe alien life exist. It's almost impossible for it not to. And you say... common or extremely rare? It depends, that's completely relative. I would probably assume there are multiple places in our own solar system that have life; though intelligent life, maybe not so much.

"Where there is water there is life."

Considering water is the second most abundant material in the Universe, hydrogen being first, I have a seriously hard time believing that there isn't any alien life out there. Besides which, the Universe is so insanely massive that an Earth-like exoplanet in a 150 million km orbit around a middle-aged yellow star seems likely to me.

As for how common or rare it is; that's relative, like kro said. My definition of common varies from other people's definition. But I would say rare, because the vast majority of space rocks out there are devoid of life as far as we can tell.

Actually, some scientists think that there may be life on Europa, a moon of Jupiter.  And also, about 1 in 6 exoplanets are earth-like in size, although we don't know if they have water on them and oxygen atmospheres.  Based on this and the fact that there are at least 100 billion planets in the Milky Way alone, I think that alien life is common.  Intelligent alien life is probably not as common, in my opinion.
