here's a newbie game (A FINISHED ONE isa, don't kill me) where isa has participated, lol. it's 45 pages long, I don't expect you to read it all(although in my game we've finished day 1 after 40 pages lol so that's short), but reading day 1 for example of how lynches start would do good, I think. that goes for everyone. if you don't like how I play, invent some better way to do that..

- Shavey Dave: Shavey Dave stated that he was afraid of hammering somebody. He hammered as town and he hammered as indie. He made a random role claim though. I don't think he would have set this up if he was scum partners with Yaya because they brought a lot of attention to Yaya. Town.

- Yuggy: Early on in D1, Yuggy said he would make longer posts "later on." "Later on" never came. Yuggy has continued to play and gives minimal information possible. Scum.

- shos: Shos lied about his role to protect himself. I guess he'd rather have the mafia not target him and that will increase the chance that a more useful town PR will get killed (doc, cop, etc.) His defense on D1 was pretty much "I'm confirmed town" and he also doesn't listen to other people in an argument which is annoying. Scum.

- Quirvy: I didn't like Quirvy's sarcastic posts at the start of the game but he's always scum hunting so I'll say town.

- Yaya: Yaya has been actively lurking. He had to be specially called out to share his thoughts on others. He asked Shavey Dave for more information about his role at a time when that information would not help the town. Scum.

- soccerboy13542: It's hard to say anything about soccerboy. He really needs to contribute more to the game but I don't see that happening with his two week vacation to a destionation where he has minimal internet access. Scum.

- jellsprout: Jellsprout has been a user of WIFOM (calling himself "obvious scum") and he was also accusing Quirvy of things that never happened. Scum.

- Jorster: As stated yesterday, I will believe Jorster's claim for now. If he's lying then he will get caught soon. Especially with a claim made on D1. Town.

- Harumbai: Harumbai is playing differently than he normally would. He doesn't share many of his thoughts and instead just comments on things. Harumbai, I want to know your thoughts on other people in the game. Scum.

So if you didn't notice, I put people as either town or scum. Yeah, I just called more than half the players scum. You guys need to step things up.

Re: Shavey
so you make him town based on the fact that you think yaya is scum, and meta. I don't think that's safe. however, since he did claim, that claim can be confirmed every night and so tomorrow he just might be a conftown.

Re: Yuggy
in other words lurking. meh. I consider him null.

Re: shos
not sure why you think my role is so lame and unimportant~

Re: jell
not sure why you think 'me so obvscum' is wifom. that is obviously a joke. I do support a jell lynch tho.

other than that I pretty much agree

Thomas, either I don't understand WIFOM or you don't. And from what I've read from the Wiki and from what I remember from the Princess Bride scene it is based on, I am fairly sure it is the second.
WIFOM is a reverse psychology way to figure out who is scum. It works on the assumption that scum will try to avoid the most obvious option and resort to the less obvious options to avoid detection. For instance, assume that CSD is scum and Dando has been harassing him all day. The most obvious option for CSD would be to take out Dando and eliminate the biggest threat. However, such a kill could easily be traced back to him, so it might be better for him kill Livio who had been focusing on Cedric most of the day.
Assuming that it would be too obvious for Cedric to kill Livio, so that CSD is the more likely scum, that is WIFOM. Sarcasm is not.

Hey guys, I just thought I'd let you know that I read all these posts, but don't have much to say to them, hence my "active lurking". I don't really get how you can get that SB/Yuggy are scum because of how little they've been on (@ Thomas); they're viable lynches, but I'd label them null before scum. I think it's counter-productive that you labeled more people scum than town. To me, the best lynch candidates right now are probably Yuggy, SB, or Harumbai.

if we're going in the 'lynch-all-inactives' way we just might doom ourselves. but quirvy doesn't like me provoking discussion so etc. let's lynch soccerboy! both scummy AND inactive! woohoo!

That's a lot of scum you have there. I agree with you on Yuggy but I do think you should keep in mind the fact that he has had two school trips.

A thoughtful response critiquing a defense provokes discussion. A picture of a bandwagon does not.

???

I don't even get what that means. Look, if you want to continue saying stuff like "moar votes on yaya plox" or just posting a picture of a bandwagon, go ahead I suppose, but consider that pretty much no one is going to take those posts seriously. I don't care at this point since this discussion is only serving to distract us from more important matters.

*sigh* you really liked that post eh, you keep talking about it~ I'm not talking specifically on that one, but in general my approach to the game. if everything is to be taken in 100% seriousness, the game won't ever start. ever.

So i have five or ten minutes of internet. I will be on a train for the next two days so inactivity won't help me any further. I think that the inactivity lynching idea isn't very good... Like what was said earlier, labeling everyone as scum is too counterproductive and doesn't really get us anywhere... If i can get on i will, but i'd rather mess up on ig than miss a thousand dollar vacation. Sorry. Walking up the Eiffel Tower > IG Mafia Game. Once in a life time opportunity guys...

THOUGHTS
Uhhh... Mostly scum on shos. OMGUS whatever. This activity thing doesn't feel strong enough where i can care really. Everything he's done doesn't add up. He's never acted this way in or outsude Mafia games. Even when he's drunk. I can't take you seriously with "moar votes on yaya pl0x" up to lying about your role from the very beginning of the game.

Vote: Shos

Sorry, post is rushed. My brother needs to use the iPad.

Just in general trying to figure out who to lynch. This discussion is entirely about methods which we clearly just disagree with, and has nothing to do with whether or not either of us are scum. I suppose that this could help from my stance if I got you to change your playing behavior, but I personally just don't care enough at this point to go after such an objective. There isn't much going on right now towards that, but this conversation isn't helping anything, IMO.

And I use those two examples, because they are the most explicit ones. I don't mind when you accuse people of things, but it irks me a little when you respond to a defense by completely disregarding the defense.

I'm gonna re-post the moar votes on post just with soccerboy's name, I think, after seeing the post here above, lol.

@Q: figuring out who to lynch is not a subject we're talking about; rather, it is THE ESSENCE OF MAFIA. it's like answering, "what do we do to win?" with "we try to win".

my point is that people will have had no thoughts at all if it weren't for what I was/am doing. and I keep doing that because still, the best your game has to offer me is a list of 'thoughts' by everyone, that really, really doesn't help me. it seems that nobody has a concrete stance about anything at all, and with no other discussion alive, this would lead to a compromise lynch, and these never end well. yesterday I was betting my organs that jorster was town, so I did everything I could to derail his wagon; I was totally surprised when jazz actually flipped scum. I pushed his lynch just to have jorster out of the fire, and it appeared correct; sheer luck, this is my opinion.

anyway, let me cooperate with your way of playing and let's give you my thoughts:

you and thomas are both town; you for getting all aggressive and raged about the game, which would only come from town. along with general gameplay, I'm labelling you officially town, lol. thomas was the first vote on Jazz yesterday, and scum would *REALLY* have no reason to derail an already-in-hammer-range wagon onto their partner.

Jell, soccerboy and harumbai are all scum; Soccerboy for the extreme sheeping-while-ignoring-actual-game and misrepping me heavily, even if his excuse for that is inactivity; Harumbai and Jell for nothing post-specific, but general gameplay.

Yaya is scumnull, discussed before.

I believe Jorster's claim, and therefore think he's town.

shavey is scummy, but not scum. bad posts, genuinity tho.

I believe I missed someone, but that's probably irelevent for inactivity.

@Jorster
I haven't voted him yet because I still kinda think that Harumbai or Yuggy would be a better lynch, but Soccerboy doesn't look much better after making that post. I might close in on him more later, but for now FoS: Soccerboy13542. I still go by that Shos's playing has been more plain bad than scummy, but he still doesn't look too good. Maybe Shos's playing style has evolved by playing on MS and we haven't seen its full form since he's been killed N1 the past 2 games, lol.

Not really; if I did, I believe I'd be reading the RVS (unless I'm mistaken), which isn't really what I was talking about. I get that you have to do stuff like that to get a game started, but my main concern is when you do stuff like that when there is stuff going on. Furthermore since we're out of RVS, then it wouldn't apply to our current situation, and it wouldn't apply to your current behavior. So I just don't find the motivation to read through that stuff. I have read the starts to some mafia games, though.

Plus I'm kinda lazy and don't feel like reading up on old mafia games

And I think you missed Yuggy, shos

And I'm not sold on soccerboy being scum.

inactivity is pro scum, lol. if I weren't posting, this game would not have progressed at all hehe.

about yuggy- I see nothing scummy in him. but nor is he townie to me, so null it is.

@Q:
I still feel like we're not so far from RVS. and yes, as yaya said, I've been playing on MS for quite a while now.
