LOL AT POST ABOVE ME

about the other thing - I'll be short cuz no time - people have no problem, AT ALL, with arabs when they meet them on the street, in shops, in the university, etc. it's just politics - do you REALLY think that if, say, 10% only of our government was arabs, people would be glad? at the moment the arab parties get around 4-5 seats out of 120. but if you look at them one by one - they're HATED. they express themselves publicly against the existence of israel; one of them was even on the Marmara, and claimed to have not known that the people on the ship were armed and ready for war, despite pictures of her with armed people. and of COURSE we don't want civil rights for OUR COUNTRY for those in the strip - they are 2.5 million people who live in an officially-out-of-the-country area, who are, let's estimate 95% against the country's existence? so why the hell would we want them to have civil rights?

I think that we should also not be supplying them with power, water, and food. we give them billions of NIS every year for such stuff, and what for? they don't belong to our country anymore, they hate us, just why? Egypt, Sudan, Lybia, even Iran - they don't *want* to replace us. *want* is the key. it's a population that is NOT hostile for them, so why should WE give them all those benefits etc?

there are loads of arabs inside israel too, you know. nobody has anything against 99% of them.

I think that this is pretty strongly showing the dislike of Arabs on a one-to-one level, Shos. Sure, this is slightly less than half, but it's still a GIGANTIC number.

have you ever heard the Muazin? hear it once, omg cool. hear it twice, omg cool. third time+, SHUT THE ASDASDA UP PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO SLEEP OVER HERE.

it's not like you can, you know, not-wake-up, when they call =\

I encourage you to read about NIR School. it's something resembling seeds of peace. when you talk to them on a one-to-one level, you can ask them questions about whatever you like. if they haven't reached school in the assumption that you owe them, I have no problem with sending my kids to school with them. if they have - it's just going to be violent. I really have no idea how they raise their kids, but really, I've met personally with around 40 arabs, and there are precisely 5 of them that I liked. I can give you their names if you wish.

trust me on this. people here don't hate arabs. they hate only arabs that hate them.

Maybe they feel you owe them because you have settled on their land and ignored international law.

Why exactly have you disliked so many of the Arabs you've met?

Another US issue that is completely pointless to argue due to no chance of reaching a solution that will shut up everyone.

So essentially you're generalising all Arabs as being 'violent, loud and impossible to discuss with'?

Literally almost half the country though thinks going green doesn't mean creating a better world. That problem comes up on several issues with a two party system that's almost divided down the middle as of now.

no O_o where did you get that from.?
you asked me why I didn't like those I didn't like; well I answered, they were at least one of the above. I'm not generalising all Arabs that way, if you didn't notice, there were five really, realy awesome ones.

"The economy collapsed because of Bush!"
No, the economy collapsed because that's what economies do. They collapse and then expand again, just like they've always done. If anyone is to blame, look at the Affordable Housing Act, passed by the Clinton admin. That's the source of most of the "bad mortgages".

I'm not particularly opposed, I just hate it when people say "Ohhh, Bush is the reason the economy fell apart!" when they apparently know nothing about what happened. If we're using the logic of "it happened in his term, so he's the reason it happened", then Obama is the reason our economy is so bad.
Which leads into this Libya mess. I'm so angry that I seem to be the only American who is angry about this. We had a freaking camera drone watching the whole thing as two of our guys fought with over 100 terrorist for 7 hours. We had marines and two airbases within an hour away. In that whole time, no one thought "Hm, maybe we should send someone to help them out"????? I don't even care if we blame Obama or not, I just want to know why that happened. We do not leave people behind. How in the hell did we not do anything to rescue them?

Obama grows the economy, even if it's at a slower pace than you want it. It is certainly better than when he took office. Bush - and Clinton - caused it to fall apart. Even if someone else started the decline, it was Bush's job to prevent the sharp decline, and he failed to do that. It is not unfair to blame him.

He poorly regulated the banks, however I do admit that it wasn't his fault that the housing bubble continued under him (preventing it earlier would have still caused a crash). However, you seem to ignore the growth in the economy due to some of his Keynesian inspired projects. They weren't the best projects to choose, but neither were the projects in the 1930s. You seem angry that the economy isn't recovering instantly. The American economy under Obama is sure as hell doing better than the Eurozone and us in the UK with our stupid government not calculating the cost of austerity correctly (well, technically it was the IMF, but still. they have the attitude of 'we better finish what we started'. The debt will increase temporarily due to these projects, however it's simply impossible to reduce the debt without destroying the economy at the moment.

Isa, although that story is fine, it looks like an absolutely abysmal source in general (even the header states 'real liberal politics'. Proper sources shouldn't have bias.

Hmm, I just found this topic... Honestly, I couldn't care less what party anyone on the Interguild is from.  I personally think I'm more Democratic than Republican, but I do agree with some of the things that Republicans are trying to do.  On the other hand, I like the color blue more than red anyway, so my opinion of the election is kind of biased by the colors...  The amount of pressure that has been put on Obama and Romney has definitely made them both a little crazier.  Whenever I see a campaign advertisement for Romney, it's often contradicting Obama, and vice versa.  Both presidential candidates say they den't approve of saying negative things about the other, but neither of them do anything to back that up; Romney says in one of his commercials that Obama didn't do anything about the financial collapse in 2008, and Obama says that Romney won't be able to fix the economy  because he's a Republican.

Also, Livio, did you just turn 20?
