No, like build a grass cover over it (about 20 blocks above) and built on that cuz now there's no space in Yug.
Or, we could build a new city. I found a nice big plain. | | Quirvy |

who needs a plain to build a city on? Challenge yourself! Build a city on the mountains, or in the sea!

You expect people to do that when you can just sweep everything clean with worldedit? That's what has happened since it was introduced. | | FlashMarsh |

I'm voting no for WorldEdit now. I don't want to sound like Jorster, but I find it simply unfair that Bmwsu can build huge buildings by copying and pasting floors on top of eachother, Skruffi can make massive obsidian domes in seconds and Haily (Despite using WorldEdit very well and artistically) doesn't have to do as much work as everyone else.
My prime change in belief is Stone City. That thing looks like it took next to no time, with stupidly huge walls that took seconds to build.
You all seem oblivious to how much longer stuff takes. YugCity arena took hours upon hours to finish the roof, and that was with five people! A WorldEditor could do this in seconds. | | Isa |

It seems like you are using the same arguments as earlier? I thought you wanted a more liberal release of worldedit powers? | | FlashMarsh |

The admins don't want that to happen. I would rather have what I previously suggested, because the huge WorldEdit structures would still be standing to dispirit you. What I am worried about is people just building crappy huge things with their new found WorldEdit powers. Without love put into projects, they will always be bad. | | Quirvy |

I still say that if you allow admins to use world edit to make buildings, there should be more liberal release of world edit, and if you aren't willing to do that then admins and mods or whatever shouldn't be able to use world edit for making their creations. I don't get how there can even be a discussion about that.

It's obvious we are just butting heads on this issue and getting no where. I have more things to say but it'd just be more of the same at this point. How about a compromise? Dividing the server into "zones" is pretty silly if you ask me. This is a server for all of the community and if we can't get along on it together without splitting ourselves into factions, then we should just rather stop paying monthly hosting fees.
I'd rather not have that happen, so how about we just restrict worldedit from everyone? If someone wants to turn an area into a desert or actually editing the world, than they can just request it from someone with a high rank enough to have worledit powers (someone who wouldn't use worldedit themselves but also relatively active). Requests could be posted on the forums, but shouldn't really be that common at all.
But also we should address the issue of purely worldedit buildings. I'm talking about those towers that reach the clouds and every floor is the same, or those buildings made of entirely one block type. It seems like some of you don't like them because you find them discouraging. I personally don't like them either, but really only because I find them tacky or ugly. Before using worledit, I wasn't all that discouraged modding tools (sunrise bay was built next to the giant worldedited dirt structure!). Like I said before, worldedit really only makes things easier, but it doesn't necessarily change your designs or make them better. When I made my tower and dug through an island to build the Sunrise Bay Central Station, I wasn't discouraged by the fact that worldedit could do that in seconds. If you have an amazing idea for design, it really shouldn't matter if it takes two hours or two weeks to build. If you have a style you prefer then you should stick to it and not let others' buildings make you hate yourself. Minecraft isn't really a competitive game, so why all the fuss?
If we can't agree on anything then just get rid of it. If you have a grand idea but don't want to put the time into building it then you're the only one to blame for not building it, not worledit. It's only a game and at the end of the day it doesn't matter if you made a small building or a grand city. What matters is that you made it, you designed it, you're proud of it. It doesn't matter at all if took you a week or a year. | | Quirvy |

Quote: This is a server for all of the community Which is why if some people are using world edit to make stuff, the entire community should be able to.
I don't care whether or not you guys keep world edit, I just want you to be treating everyone equally to some extent.
You guys wanna get rid of it because people are using it too much and you think it's ruining the fun and feeling of accomplishment that happens when you finish a building, get rid of it.
If you wanna keep it so that you can focus on the design aspect of minecraft creations instead of the manual labor aspect, go ahead, just make sure that it's not just the people at the top who can use it.

Is there a way to limit the selection size for worldedit? It would be a good way of preventing server crashes. If not then self-restraint also works. | | Bmwsu |

Guyguy and Krotomo both have WorldEditing powers now.

Yes, there is. I asked Isa if he thought it might be a good idea, but he never answered.

yeah, mods, which is my rank. Mods can also ban people, but we don't have worldedit. | | Bmwsu |

No, he means a rank for Builder, only the only extra things you get is just weather and time controls.
I am thinking it might be a good idea. Isa, Livio, thoughts?

we might be getting too many ranks?
I'd be cool with removing the mod rank, if necessary. I never use my powers anyway, and I usually forget I have them too. | | Bmwsu |

Except when you stop the weather or change the time.
Yeah, though. Then we'd have to have a rank for Architects and the new rank, if someone like that came along.

Can't remember that question. Naturally I agree.
I also agree with mostly everything Haily said.
Finally, and most importantly, EVERYONE INSTALL THE LATEST UPDATE! Bukkit has released a stable version for 1.7.2, so we're using it. | | Yuggy |

I'm gonna try to keep this video as short as possible. It'll be more of a mashup than a tour, and I likely won't be recording my voice again, since that just makes the video longer. | | Isa |
