You did your job well. With your job being keeping Mewtwo busy while I revive some of the more useful members. At least you still did something. I think I didn't use Jorster at all that battle.

It is time for my third Red run: The Red Roguelike Run!
I have found this neat little tool, the Universal Pokemon Game Randomizer, which allows you to randomize many things in the game, such as Pokemon locations, stat distributions, types and moves. This makes it somewhat like a Roguelike game, where everything is random every time you play it.
I have kept most things reasonably balanced, so all Pokemon will have the same stat totals, their evolutions will have the same types, they will mostly get STAB moves and only legendary Pokemon are swapped with other legendary Pokemon, as well as some other things. It also allows me to let the trade evolutions evolve by level-up instead, which is very nice.

If you want to try this run yourself, I used the following seed and settings string:
Seed: -2840154063291334545
String: RBFBCAMABgAAAAKNAwIKFA9Qb2tlbW9uIFJlZCAoVSmVqzWQqgiGuaaeD2c=
Or you can just make your own randomized game and play for yourself.

The journey begins:

Pallet Town:
I named my character Fourier and my rival Laplace. I grab the Potion, get out the door and walk into the grass. Oak stops me and drags me to his lab. There I get the choice between three Pokemon:
Nidoran-F, Weedle and Nidoran-M.
I quickly walk over to the far end of the table and pick up Gauss, the Nidoran-M. Laplace is no idiot and takes Nidoran-F.

As it turns out Nidoran-M is a Ground type with Earthquake and Jump Kick as base move. His best stats are his Attack and Speed. Yeah, this appears to be very balanced.
I use Earthquake. Miss. Damn, Nidoran-F is a Flying type. Luckily this is not a Nuzlocke. My Jump Kick does only a sliver of damage, as Nidoran-F quickly takes me down. Not a good start.

Viridian City:
A wild Exeggcute appears! Gauss used Earthquake. It's Super Effective. This is going to be hard to get used to.
I pick up Oak's Parcel and go back to pick up my Pokedex.
On my way to Viridian for the second time I find a Ponyta. Earthquake is not very effective and she counters with Absorb. I wonder what type Ponyta is.
I buy myself 15 Pokeballs and return to Route 1. I first catch a Ponyta. A flaming horse, what better name than the hero of thermal physics himself, Boltzmann. Ponyta appears to be a Grass/Water type with very high Speed and balanced other stats. Then I encounter an Exeggcute. It took me 7 Pokeballs, but I finally caught him. 5 eggs in a single location, he is named Bose. Bose is a Rock/Water type with low Speed and other stats balanced. He has Rock Slide and Sing. That should be useful against Laplace's Nidoran-F.
I go west to train, catch some more Pokemon and perhaps even get my revenge.

I catch Curie the Jynx. She turns out be an Ice type with very high Defense and Speed and she has Recover and Ice Beam.
I use up my last Pokeballs trying to catch Porygon. All these late-game Pokemon have not been good for my wallet. I'll leave him for now and train up my current team so I can beat up some trainers and steal their money.

I meet up with Laplace again. Exeggcute OHKO's his Nidoran-F like a Bose, while Gauss deals with his Clefairy without trouble. Clefairy did get a chance to use Seismic Toss, so I expect she is a Fighting type.

In Viridian Forest I encounter a Horsea. Curie brings her down to the red, Bose sleeps her and I catch her with my first Pokeball. Easy enough. She is named Lagrange, has very high Special, but as a Flying type probably won't get much use out of it. She has Gust as only attack.
Viridian Forest appears to have Nidorinos. Joy. Luckily he is only level 3, so even Curie with her low level can take care of it.

The first Bug Catcher I find sends out Ekans. Ekans promptly OHKOs Curie with a Flamethrower. I wonder what type he has. Bose quickly deals with him and the second Ekans the Bug Catcher sends out.
The second Bug Catcher sends out Magikarp. He quickly OHKOs Curie with a Rock Slide. Poor girl just can't catch a break. Boltzmann takes out two of them, but Gauss has to be send in to take care of the third.

I go back through the grass on that Route outside (I think Route 2) and encounter a Marowak there. I didn't expect that. Curie takes care of it with no problems.

The third Bug Catcher sends out a Spearow. Curie hits it SE with Ice Beam, taking it down to about 1 HP. It uses Meditate. I wonder what offensive move it has, so I let it Meditate up to +4. It then uses Psybeam. Brilliant strategy. Curie finishes him off.
As I move towards the exit, I find a Ghastly. Both Curie's Ice Beam and Boltzmann's Absorb hit it SE, but he still manages to hang on. Bose puts it to sleep and after breaking out of one Pokeball, I catch it with my last one.
Heisenberg the Ghastly is a Ground/Ice Pokemon with high HP and Speed, but low Defense. He has Dig, Earthquake and Rage.

Pewter City:

The first trainer in Brock's Gym uses Charmander. Charmander hits Heisenberg with Poison Sting and Toxic and quickly dies to Earthquake. Obviously a Poison type. He next sends out a Bellsprout. It uses Acid Armor and Poison Sting, so it is also a Poison type. Curie takes care of him.

Brock starts with another Charmander. I know what to expect, so Heisenberg takes easy care of it. His next Pokemon is Charmeleon. Very original. Charmeleon uses Poison Sting, Light Screen and Psychic. This last attack was a surprise, so he took out Bose without much trouble. Gauss finishes the job.

Brock congratulates me and gives me TM34: Psychic. None of Pokemon learn it, so I put it back in my bag and walk on into the sunset.

Road to Mount Moon:

On the route to Mt. Moon I first fight a Lass. She has a Krabby. Boltzmann has no trouble with the Krabby's Bubbles, but once he started Slashing me I knew I was in trouble. Sure enough, Boltzmann fell in a few attacks. Bose, as a Water/Rock type, had no trouble with either attack, so he managed to beat both this and the next Krabby without any trouble.
Next up is a Bug Catcher with three Squirtles. He nearly OHKO'd Boltzmann with a Double Edge, so I send out Bose. Then he uses Submission and Double Kick. Great, a Fighting type Squirtle. Despite the odds, Bose did manage to sleep and take out one of the Squirtles. I send out Lagrange next. As a pure Flying type he might be useful. Nope, 2HKO'd by a NVE Submission. Curie takes care of this Squirtle and Gauss of the next. Gauss levels up and learns Thunder. That was a pleasant surprise.

I realize Boltzmann and Lagrange are currently far too weak, so I spend a bit of time training them. During this time I found out that the route south of Pewter contains Ice type Marowaks, Bug type Parasects and Rock type Tangela. I don't want to catch already evolved Pokemon and I don't like Tangela, so I leave them alone. In Viridian Forest I eventually find a Magikarp (probably the Pikachu replacement), so I catch it. Magikarp starts out as the laughing stock of the Pokemon world but eventually rises to greatness. Doppler is a perfect name for him. I want to fill up my Pokedex as much as possible, so I switch out Curie (who can't evolve) for Doppler.
While training up Doppler he manages to bring down a Tangela to a single HP before being knocked out. It is a shame to waste an opportunity like this, so I sleep him Bose and catch him. I name him Prendtl, after a physicist who I know of but don't particularly care about, check to see that he is a Rock type and lock him away again.

After everyone is level 10, I resume on my path again and find another trainer with Squirtle. A great opportunity for Lagrange to proof himself. He does manage to take out one of the Squirtles, but it was with luck and he falls against the second. Boltzmann finishes.
Next up is a trainer with several Pidgeys. I allow Bose to fight the first one to see what attack it uses. It uses Petal Dance. Ouch. Bose survives and sleeps the Pidgey, taking it out in the next two turns. The next Pidgey comes in. This sounds like a job for Lagrange (again). This time Lagrange actually proves his worth and takes out the remaining three Pidgeys by himself. I also learn that they can use Poison Sting, so I suspect they are Grass/Poison. I don't know when Horsea learns another attack, but I hope it is soon. Gust simply isn't cutting it.
Next up is a Lass. She first sends out Jigglypuff. Jiggs uses Seismic Toss, but does get hit SE by Rock Slide. Crazy R/B/Y glitches. Next up is Mankey. He gets in a futile Drill Peck before falling to Bose's Rock Slide.
Then another Youngster with a Pidgey. Boltzmann is useless here. Heisenberg was almost as useless, but his Dig giving the SE message confirms that Pidgey is Grass/Poison. Doppler somehow manages to finish the job.
Finally another Youngester with more Pidgeys. Boltzmann is useless here, so I switch in Lagrange. Lagrange manages to take out the first Pidgey, but because of more Poison Stings, higher levels and unlucky Criticals, he falls against the second Pidgey. It is at this point that I realize I have a Rock/Water, pure Rock, two Grounds and a Grass/Water with only Absorb as remaining Pokemon. Luckily Bose manages to endure one attack, puts the Pidgey to sleep and wins the fight.
The final trainer is a Lass with a single Ekans. I remember Ekans is a Fire type, so I switch in Doppler. Despite his type advantage and higher base power SE move, he still manages with only a single HP remaining. Great guy.

Inside the Mt. Moon Pokecenter is the guy who sells a Magikarp. However, the script should change who he sells. The conversation doesn't change, though, so I don't know what I'll get. I take a gamble and I buy it. It is not a Magikarp. It is an Exeggcutor. Bose2 goes straight to the PC. Great way to spend $500.
I track a bit to the south, so I can find out what is in the grass here. I find a Voltorb, who I name Ampere and who turns out to be a Ground/Normal type with Reflect and Bonemerang and a Mankey, who I name Fitz and who is a Flying type with Wing Attack and Drill Peck. I also find a Nidoking. I was moving over to the run button at first, but then I think "lol Ground type" so I let Lagrange tear him apart. He did turn out to have Double Kick, but that was also hilarious to Lagrange.
I switch out Lagrange for Fitz (sorry Lagrange, but Drill Peck) and train him up a bit. The Voltorb and Nidoking are a fairly high level and Fitz laughs at both of them, so he grows from level 3 to level 10 after about 10 battles.

Next time, into the darkness...

Mt. Moon:

I step into the cave. I walk west first to get the TM there. First Pokemon I encounter is a Pinsir. I want to catch it, so Fitz (who I misnamed and will be renamed to Fick once I get to the Name Rater) starts with a simple Wing Attack. It is SE and Pinsir responds with Double Kick. Guess Pinsir is a Fighting type. Another Wing Attack brings it to the red and somehow I manage to catch it with my first Pokeball. Pinsir gets renamed Dyne and gets send to the PC.
I find TM 12 and find out it contains Barrage. Useless attack, I will sell it once I get to a Pokemart.
I battle a Bug Catcher who sends out yet another Pidgey. I'm really growing sick of those guys. Fitz OHKOs both Pidgeys with Drill Peck.
Next is a Lass. She is original and sends out a Pidgeotto. Joy. Doppler quickly gets taken out, so I send in Fitz again to take care of it.
I find a Cubone and catch it. I name him Huygens. He is a pure Ice type with Ice Punch and Defense Curl. He has a monster Defense, low Attack and average everything else. I figure I have enough Rock types already, so I deposit Doppler and take out Huygens.
In Mt. Moon I also find a Dratini. It appears to be a Fire type, but despite my best efforts it manages to break free from my last Pokeball.
I find a Pokefreak or however it was called. It first uses a Drowzee. The Drowzee uses Headbut, but Huygens' Ice Punch does do SE damage. Next he sends out a Clefairy. Huygens does a great job, but Clefairy is a Fighting type and in the end overpowers him.
I run back to Pewter City and buy some more Pokeballs.
Next is a Bug Catcher with three Magikarp. Boltzmann makes quick work of it.
A Lass with two Clefairy. This is getting old by now. Fitz OHKOs both.
I find a Drowzee but Huygens accidentally OHKOs it. Then I run into a Rocket with two Dittos. They use Lick, so I guess they are Ghost types. Huygens has no problems with them. Behind the Rocket is TM01, which contains Ice Punch. I don't need this yet, so I keep it in my bag for now.
I find another Drowzee. This one uses Vine Whip, so I know now what type he is. Bose manages to survive one of his attacks and put to him sleep. I catch him on my second Pokeball and name him Bohm.
I find a wild Magmar, but I accidentally KO it. It uses Lick, so it is probably a Ghost type.
I next run into another Rocket. He uses Growlithe, who surprise upon all surprises turns out to be a Fire type! Second is a Krabby who uses Water Gun! However, Huygens' Ice Punch did neutral damage. I don't remember how the SE/NVE message glitch works exactly, so I don't know what that says about his typing. Huygens also takes care of the second Krabby and after the battle, Gauss evolves into Nidorino! Nidorino is still a pure Ground type. Now to find a Moon Stone.
I also find an Onix and Victreebel on this floor. I OHKO Onix with an Earthquake, but it uses Bonemerang, so it is probably a Ground type. Victreebel gets OHKOd before it gets to use an attack, so I know nothing about it.
I battle another Youngster with several Pidgey. I also find another Magmar, this one I catch on my first Pokeball. He gets dubbed Carnot and is left to rot in the PC. I also encounter a Kadabra. It uses Aurora Beam, so it appears to be an Ice type.
The Hiker uses Vulpix. The Vulpix uses Ember, but Earthquake display that it is NVE, so Vulpix is Fire/Grass or Fire/Bug. He also uses a Sandshrew. It uses Comet Punch and Earthquake is again NVE. Huygens's Ice Punch is SE, it is probably a Grass type. Then comes an Omanyte. It uses Water Gun and Ice Punch is SE, so probably Grass/Water.
At this point I check my PC to look at my new Pokemon. Carnot the Magmar is indeed a Ghost type, Bohm the Drowzee is Fighting/Grass and Dyne is pure Fighting.
The next Rocket sends out a Ponyta. I know what to expect and quickly send out Fitz. Fitz laughs at the incoming Absorb and proceeds to slaughter Ponyta with Drill Peck.
The final Rocket uses two Ekans. Heisenberg OHKOs both with Earthquake.
The Pokefreak uses two Voltorb, who Fitz mocks from high in the air, and a Butterfree. Bose slept Butterfree before he could use an attack, but the Rock Slide was SE.

I take the dome fossil and step outside. There I find TM04, which contains Sand Attack and proceed on the Cerulean.

So, I am ISA. My foe is ARMADA.

I get to choose between Weedle, Machop and Oddish at the start. Machop is the natural choice. Armada for some reason goes for the Weedle. Well, that's his choice.
Machop, now named Mson, is Electric/Bug with 21 HP (same as the regular starters I think?), 9 Attack and Defense, 13 Speed and 11 Special. His only starting move is Thunderbolt. Unfortunately Weedle is a Ground type. WELP. Weedle hurts me slowly with Petal Dance. He deals quite a bit of damage to himself when Petal Dance is over though, so I suspect he has high attack and low defense - not unusual for Ground or Grass types (which I suspect him to be). He kills me with Tri Attack after that.
My first wild encounter is a Lapras. It uses Double Kick so it is probably Fighting type. Thunderbolt does nothing to Lapras, so out of the two first Pokémon I've faced, I can damage none of them. Joy. It gets even worse when the only other Pokémon in the area is - guess it - Weedle. So I cannot damage anything in my surroundings unless I get to use Struggle.
I'm gonna take a break. >_>

I went to a side area and there was a Primeape there, that was not Ground type! It took loads of damage from my TBolt, despite apparently being weak to it (I suspect typing shenanigans, but it did know Fire Punch, so hmm). Anyway, he Fire Punched me and I took half of my HP in damage. I had no choice but to kill the guy since a Poké Ball might have missed, and caused me to die twice before getting to beat any Pokémon whatsoever.

I faced multiple Spearow afterwards. All die to one TBolt despite not being weak. I then faced a Primeape again, this one used Stun Spore but missed. Grass/Fire typing maybe?

I heal up and go back, now facing a Jynx. It resists TBolt and lives with 2 HP, but gets paralyzed. I kill it because I forgot to buy Poké Balls.

Oh lord, it appears I was very lucky with my early Pokemon.

Cerulean City:

As I said earlier, it turned out Bohr2 was already evolved, so I swapped Bohr out for Doppler again. I go west to train Doppler up to strength again. There I find a Weezing. As it turns out, this Weezing has Sleep Powder, Solar Beam and Blizzard. With 5 Pokemon of my team being Rock, Ground, Grass or Flying, this is a pretty dangerous combination. I did manage to defeat it.
I also find a Doduo. I captured it, named it Mach and see it is a Dragon. The only Dragon type move in R/B/Y is Dragon Rage and I might have banned it, so Doduo is stuck with Doubleslap. His stats aren't stellar either, so I don't think I'll use him. I also catch Ditto, who I named Glauert (after the Prandtl-Glauert Transformation) who is a Ghost type.

After gaining a few levels I go north to challenge Laplace again. First I take on his Nidorina with Doppler. I know it is a Bug/Flying type, so this wasn't very difficult. Next is a Machoke. I hadn't encountered it yet, so I just send in Boltzmann as a sacrifice. Absorb does NVE, Machoke starts glowing. Bugger. Machoke OHKOs Boltzmann, Fitz comes in for the revenge. Next is Jigglypuff, which I remembered as a Fighting type. Fitz OHKOs it with a Critical Hit, but it didn't do SE damage. Apparently it wasn't a Fighting type after all. Finally, he brings in his own Mankey. Well Doppler, show Laplace why it is not a good idea to hoard Flying types.
Laplace gives me enough money for three more Pokeballs and scurries off.

First on Nugget Bridge is a Bug Catcher with two Dittos. The first one Parahaxes Doppler to death with Lick, but Boltzmann steps in takes both down.
Next is a Lass with two Spearows. Dopplers Rock Slide was NVE, but at attacked only with Psybeam. Boltzmann's Absorb was SE, so I guess Spearow is Ground/Psychic.
Third is a Youngster with a Diglett. It attacks with Pay Day. That should come in very handy so I need to get myself one of those quickly. After the battle I check the Pokedex and find out they are on Seafoam Island and west of Viridian City. I didn't find one when training there, so I guess it is in the area after the badge check. Shame.
Fourth is a Lass with yet another two Pidgeys. I am really starting to hate those. Fitz takes care of both.
And finally Camper or something with a single Machop. It Pecks Doppler, who laughs and Rock Slides it to death.
And then the Rocket. He gives me a nugget and sends out Meowth. It uses Take Down and Crabhammer to beat Doppler and Boltzmann uses a SE Absorb to beat it. Then is an Ekans. I remember it was a Fire type, so I guess Boltzmann should take easy care of it. He did, but I did get a scare when the Ekans suddenly used Clamp.

Next is Misty's Gym. I walk up to the first trainer, who sends out a Voltorb. Ground type Gym? Fitz is going to enjoy this. Indeed, Fitz did. I let Boltzmann handle the second trainer.
I send out Boltzmann against Misty, confident in my Pokemon. Misty sends out a Butterfree. One Ice Beam later, I realize my error. I quickly send out Doppler, who just barely manages to edge out a win. Next she sends out a Scyther. Doppler manages to get it down to half HP before dying to Pin Missile. I let Gauss use a Jump Kick, which hit for NVE damage and confirms Scyther is a Bug type. Scyther is glad spamming Haze, though, so Gauss still beats it with little trouble. I get TM11, which as I already suspected contains Haze. There is little use for Haze in-game, so I will sell as soon as possible for a few extra bucks.

To Bill:

I encounter a Cooltrainer north of Cerulean. He first sends out Nidoran-F. I know this is Bug/Flying, so I send out Doppler to slaughter it. Next comes a Paras. I don't remember what type it was, so I send out Heisenberg. Heisenberg starts with a Dig, but it is NVE and Paras Softboils the damage away. So I think, lets use Rage. He will damage me, Rage will build up strength and eventually not even Softboiled will be able to outheal it. That is when Paras used Thunderbolt. For those who don't remember, Heisenberg is a Ground type Ghastly. So now I am stuck in a minimum power Rage vs Softboiled stalemate. I can't switch attacks or do anything else and I don't think the CPU in Red can run out of PP. All I can do is hope he will eventually use too many Thunderbolts in a row. Thank god my emulator has autofire and can run at 1000% speed.
I'll edit this post once the fight ends.
Edit: It took about half an hour (with auto-fire at 10x speed), but I finally managed to win the fight. I'll continue this later.
