So, Livio or Dekudude, can you report about the demonstrations in Arizona regarding the immigration laws?

I remember there was a pretty huge protest a month or two (or three?) ago. Other than that, I don't know much about what's going on. I live pretty north in Phoenix, so it's not like any of the protests ever come here. I think it's like a 2-hour drive to the southern part of Phoenix.

Anyway, I heard that a judge ruled out some unconstitutional parts of the law. Actually, he ruled out all of the parts that I knew about, so I don't even know what's left.

I can't find that much info on the demonstrations. I'm just checking the local news sites, though.

I searched on Google for bbc arizona, first result:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-10607927

I think your local newspapers are, well, local, and not updated as frequently as larger ones. They also may have their reasons for not reporting, if they have a republican agenda.

in israel there is a mess about immigration too, you know. all those phillipines(sp?) and indians(as in, from india lol) that come here to work for sick or disabled people and stuff - there are all kinds of laws about them, and some of them marry and have children here, but then the marriage are illegal and stuff, so people may be sent back to their homeland and stuff...imo it's just stupid laws and stuff, but it is still here, so it's still a problem.

Edit: I find loads of articles about demonstrations written Monday, but none today or yesterday.

man, the judge who ruled out the key provisions of the Arizona bill has already received literally thousands of threats via phone and email. Don't people know what judges do? They're job is to interpret the law to make sure it doesn't conflict with other laws or the Constitution. If they say a law is unconstitutional, it's because that law really is unconstitutional. I hate it when people go crazy over court rulings and even court nominees because they think the courts are as biased as they themselves are.

Holy ****, I just heard that the neighboring school district wants to ban any handicapped kids from moving to that district or going to school there, cuz they said "a kid in a wheelchair might run someone over". Am I the only one who thinks this is nuts?

Oh yeah, I think that's the guy you've been complaining about every now and then.

Can't say much else, I haven't heard of the guy from any other sources than you and this article.

A lady from Minnesota got fined $1.5 million for illegally downloading 24 songs, I imagine she'll try and lower the amount, but either way, it's gonna be high. Pwned.

Suicide bomber in Stockholm. The only one who died in the attack was the actual suicide bomber, though.

I gotta admit I'm slightly nervous, and quite thankful I live in the suburbs.

Didn't jell post a screenshot of a website showing something about somebody being fined like 1.5 million dollars for each song that person downloaded, and then there was another headline on the webpage about each family of deceased passengers of a planecrash being given like $5000 as compensation for their wrongful deaths or something?

Reminds me: does anyone know of the Pike River Mine accident here in NZ? It's sad, really. I hate it when people die. Sometimes I even throw up when I hear the word "death"... that's how much I hate it. I feel sorry for those people who suffer because of their family members dying from mine accidents.
