aw man, pistons don't work exactly how they had demonstrated. You can't launch stuff into the air any more. You also can't use them to move more than 12 blocks at once.

where were you even thinking of putting them anyways?

I took a quick look at a video of the piston mod which apparently isn't the same thing as the piston you guys are working with, and could you perhaps use them on the ceiling and floor to create some sort of vault door which you'd need to find a well hidden switch to open, and could open/close easily once you enter the building?

yeah I was planning to put it in the video.

Here was my awesome idea for how the cannon could work. We could have a dispenser of bombs (furnace-minecarts) which you would then place on a track which will bring the minecart to the top of the tower (still inside the tower). Then I'd put sensor rails on the track that triggers some pistons as the minecart rides along. These pistons would pull in part of the wall leaving a hole to the outside. The minecart would then fall off the tack and onto a piston, which would launch it into the air, and the hard part would've been to get the timing right for when the pistons close so that the closing wall ends up pushing the bomb in a horizontal direction, so that it travels on a projectile path.

Unfortunately it won't work. There are other ways to make cannons in Minecraft, but they rely on TNT which is banned.

Well I personally wanna leave the outside structure alone, but if you want to build tiny towers around the actual structure that have cannons and whatnot, I'd be fine with it.

Also, when is this video coming out?

I didn't get to film today b/c the server was super laggy. I'll probably film tomorrow. Not sure how long it'll take me to edit it this time.

hey don't forget to make our actual entry into the Monument comp. Remember to make Thomas' hole really big and deep. And then to probably fill it with a few tourist shops and also tourist... traps

Along with a few cave systems might be nice.

Might not be a bad idea to have the whole be bordering a water body(as in it cuts into a water body, but there's a dam keeping the water out).

Also someone should probably make something for the try something new comp.

I'm gonna make an SMBX level for the pentathlon round.

Not sure when I'll get around to making the Thomas hole.

I need some more ideas of things to put. Right now the first level (underwater) is the security room with a metal detector. The second level (sea level) is the surveillance room. I feel like that room needs so more things. Maybe I could make the next level be the war room, and there might be room for one more level after that.

Since I couldn't make a cannon, maybe I could make gun posts where the wall opens up and you can shoot snowballs out from the side of the tower.

Nah, I want the monument to just be a monument that's secretly also a base. So nothing shooting out of it. We shouldn't mention there being an inside at all, and have people find it on their own.

Above the war room should be a room listing all of our secret outposts, and then you'll make all of these little observation bases throughout minecraft near major locations. By secret I mean they're not impossible to find, but they're generally well hidden. And all are of course, underground. We'll call them surveillance outposts.

A few:
An underwater outpost under Sunrise Bay.
An outpost under Spawn City.
Another under Yug City.
One by sprout tower, one just outside of Bmwsu's secret town.
One under the body of water south of San Notch.
One under the body of water that D52's bridge goes over

And any other places that you think are significant enough to place a secret outpost by.

They wouldn't be too big, probably just one room, whatever's in it would be basically the same thing for each outpost. Each one should have a sign on the wall declaring the name of the outpost (IE: "Spawn City Surveillance Outpost", "Sunrise Bay Surveillance Outpost") and then another sign which would say
"OUTPOST COMPROMISED
Data transferred to Surveillance Base"

It would hint at a Surveillance Base, which would eventually lead them to the monument, where they'd find the inside.

But of course the actual Surveillance base will be somewhere else. I'd suggest you make it in the heavily wooded area(I assume it is, anyways) south of darktown. Dunno what would be in the surveillance base other than all of the outposts listed on a wall and maybe some more of those picture things, but you're a creative person, I bet you could figure it out.

Man, the things I'd be doing if I had minecraft....

lol that sounds awesome.

But it's hard to stop people from getting inside the monument. With everyone having compasses, they'll likely warp all over the monument trying to figure out what it is and eventually use the compass to warp trough the wall and get inside. I was thinking of showing how you're supposed to get in in my video, because to find the entrance any other way would be less exciting.

I thought when you warped with compass, it would bring you to on top of whatever block you're pointing at, in which case if they did it at the wall, they'd just go on top of the row of blocks and never be able to get. Are you sure it's possible to warp inside of the monument?

Left click does that. Right click lets you pass through blocks.

Then, sure, show it in the video. But you should still make all the surveillance outposts and the Secret Surveillance Base.

BTW, these bases probably shouldn't be easily exitable, too, as in, you get to them from well hidden holes instead of normal staircases or whatnot. They should be able to enter them without cheating, disregard however they exit.

For example, the actual Surveillance Base should be enterable by destroying a tree trunk made out of stone or whatever, and digging into the tiles below the trunk of the tree,  which eventually leads you into the secret underground base.

And if we're gonna make it known that you can enter the monument, you probably shouldn't have the room listing all of these Surveillance Outposts.

We could number the outposts and just not list where they are.

nah, not in the monument, we want them to discover the outposts by surprise. Make a Library of Lake Michigan or something instead.

Also, the idea is that the stone tree trunk would continue into the ground.

For the outposts, I might just put a hole in the ground behind a tree or something, or in other cases, an underwater entrance like what you did with our monument. It might be a little difficult to drain a room that's under the water, but it should be doable.

We should make all the entrances the same so that people know that it's part of a series. Maybe all the outposts should be under that stone tree trunk. If you were to run into more than one you'll at least start to be onto the trend and might want to investigate. That way more people may run into the surprise.

No, the stone tree trunk would only be for the Base. The outposts' entrances would all be holes in the ground or underwater entrances.
