Please get in the habit of emailing me when the server is down, so that you won't have to wait three days for it to get back up again. My email is easy to remember: livio@interguild.org

There's still Classic Creative on the Minecraft site. Although Survival Test got removed October 2010.

Oh damn, I got like three ninjas.

I think Shavey is using the word 'classic' as an adjective. If he wanted to refer to the creative mode, he would have said 'Classic Minecraft'.

Btw Kooler, about your structure (a wall) on Seahorse Island... it must be finished within 7 days or else it will be removed.

The server's down for unknown reasons. The control panel says it's fine, but I can't connect to it or even load the super map. I can, however, connect through FTP, so I downloaded a backup of the server just in case. I'm hoping it's just that Avante is just working on stuff and that it'll be back to normal soon. If not, I'll have to contact them about it.

There is definitely something wrong with the map, because that is what seems to not be working. The server isn't down, because it says "logging in..." what it doesn't say is "Downloading terrain..." and the supermap isn't working either.

I downloaded a backup yesterday. Maybe I could try loading that backup on a local game and see if there really is something wrong with it. The only problem is that I don't know how to do that... and I'm too busy working on Aeon to find out.

I fixed the server!

Turns out it was the End that was broken. It was completely corrupted and would crash the server just by being there. I think it was kro who reported that banned items were allowed in the End, and so I'm guessing that had something to do with it.

I recently re-watched Livio's tour video of the old server, and remembered something. We should make another Pixel Art Park, just like the old one, on this server.

It would be really awesome if we could make a Pixel Art Rail where you can travel the long distance from Spawn to the other server destinations while looking at pixel art. I've been scouting the server for project and locations lately so that I can better plan the rail system.

If we're going to paste stuff around, I might suggest pasting the current map into the old one, because the old one had a better infrastructure. But even if we did paste stuff around, I'm not sure how it would work. Would we paste entire chunks or just the individual projects? And where would we paste them?

But I have no idea how to do that. Our best bet would be to get two worlds running on the server and maybe WE will let us copy-paste between the worlds. Or we could do it offline, on someone's computer...

Although, I'm still not a very big fan of abandoning this world yet. I kind like the challenge of trying to solve these infrastructure problems, and I at least want to have a chance to implement my plans and see if they work. But it would also be a big help if people would at least build closer to each other, instead of in the middle of nowhere where no one can find you.

I really want to do a server tour, but it probably wont happen until after the Aeon demo is released, and probably after classes have started up again.

Non minecrafter question: What do you mean by infastructure problems? Are you talking about the shape of the land, or how people can't get on it sometimes, or something else?

He means how it was very easy to get around the server, from project to project. Now all of the projects are scattered around on the new server.

I have an idea! If we can, then we should have the IG pull together enough money to rent out enough RAM to have 2 worlds (we will do this over the summer), then we will install WorldWarp (so we can travel through the worlds), and then we can find places for the stuff from this server, to paste it to the old server, then we can delete this server, and downgrade to our current package, so then we can have the old server, tied in with the new server.

What do you guys think?

I don't really like the idea. Alot of the projects on the server, Ex: my summer house and realm valley, rely on the area around them to look good. doing this will ruin it.

We should make another NER that leaves spawn, just like the old server, and then build around that. That way our new server is a bit more like the old server, and easier to navigate.
