I've been working on a mansion. Kooler has also been helping me a bit. It's going well, with 2 floors finished and another one in progress. It will have 3 floors, a basement, an attic, and a greenhouse next to the mansion. The finished project should have over 25 rooms, maybe even more if I get some extra ideas.

Since you guys never tell me when the minecraft server is down, I decided to do a random check today, and sure enough, the server was down! Except this time it looks more serious, since I couldn't restart the server through the control panel, nor could I connect via FTP. My guess is that something's wrong with the machine that our server runs on, so I submitted a support ticket with Avante Hosting. I'll let you know when the server's back up.

Also, this is final exams week for me, so this weekend I'll officially be on summer vacation! Maybe I'll start working on some server tour videos next week.

Yeah, what's up with minecraft anyways? I feel like I never hear anything about it these days. It used to be the big thing, with people building stuff everywhere, but then the old server died, and you guys decided to make this new server, and you guys kind of got started, but then it was like it just wasn't the same or something, and you just stopped playing.

This is of course from the perspective of someone who hasn't been able to join any of you in your minecraft playing, so legitimately, what is going on with minecraft right now?

This morning I saw that Livio bumped up this thread and thought the exact same thing, Quirvy. Do you guys all just play in secret now? None of you talk about it anymore. If how much MC is mentioned now is equivalent to how much it's actually used, I'd suggest not renewing the server. (feel free to inform me if everyone is still playing it secretly)

I haven't been on the server for ages...

I've been on two times or so for the past three months (which is more than the three months prior to that). The server looks swell, but there hasn't been anyone on it.

I dunno, it seems everything there was to be done there is already done. this is why I always complain about games like this, where you really don't have a real goal. it seems that even my university colleagues who played minecraft(dansh too lol) stopped playing, because...there's nothing to do there.

Yeah, same. I've kinda lost interest in Minecraft and am really caught up in TF2. (Note my avtar). Wow, it's a good game.

Now for a Survival server, pretty please with whipped cream on top?

So, if nobody really wants a creative server anymore, then switch over to a completely new world and fresh plugins for a survival server?

You're in luck guys! It turns out that Avante decided to discontinue their France servers without telling us, so they transferred us to a brand new server in Florida for $4 a month ($2 cheaper).

Also they do not have a backup of our old server so everything was lost.......... again.....

But as I was walking around the new server, I was really impressed by the new map generator and I realized that it might be awesome to have a survival server.

I'll post the new server IP in a few hours, probably in a new thread. But until then, we can probably decide what kind of server we want it to be, OR if we want to bring back the original old server.

I think it looks like survival is the one that everybody wants.

Funny thing is that the sudden request for survival came when we have to start a new world...

So, my opinion is that we make a practically-vanilla server.  Pretty much the only plugin that'd affect the players is a warp gate.  A warp gate not for towns, however, but for certain milestones, such as every 5K blocks from the spawn.

I think it would be good as PVP, as PVP minecraft is pretty fun...

Only if individual persons can choose not to engage in PVP.

Easy.  We already have that plugin.

I love survival, I just saw this today. I cant wait.

Yeah sure. I already have another server my friend owns to play creative on.

EDIT: Just wondering, what's the server gonna be all about? Will it be a war server or will it be a big group of us all working together?
