The closest math book was Numerical Methods For Differential Equations, by C. Vuik et al.. There are a few important characters in this book, namely x, y, z, w and h. The entire book revolves around w developing around x with h to eventually become z and get closer to y. It was a very interesting development that, while deviating very little from the established paths, did manage to surprise a few times.
And while this development is obviously the main part of the book, it did involve several plots. These plots were mostly unrelated, but were quite graphical and left me yearning for more. While I haven't finished the entire book yet, I am already planning on reading its sequel, Numerical Methods In Scientific Computing by J. van Kan et al..
So while this idea was certainly witty and seems intellectual in theory, it appears to fail when put to practice.

I agree, but another feeling worth mentioning is when the people running the rounds try too hard, and end up making it too specific, and difficult to make entries form, or even when you're assigned to make the next round, but you can't come up with any good ideas.

Buy a Citroen DS3. It's the 2010 Top Gear magazine car of the year. I don't think it's that pricey and it's ment to be fun to drive. It also looks good.
