Tips for round winners:

If you don't have a great idea when you learn that it is your turn, don't just make a round that you don't even think is good. Try to think to come up with a good idea for a round, and then if you can't, then make a round that you don't even think is good.

Also you're encouraged to start the round in this format: "You have one post to [what you have one post to do goes here]"

Additionally don't end the round early. Rounds should be at least close to a day long. If you started the round at night, you can't end it tomorrow morning. If you started it in the morning, you shouldn't end it before you go to bed.

Interrounds:
The people running rounds are ideally supposed to judge approximately 24 hours after they start the round, but from now on if they haven't judged after 30 hours (6 hours late) then anyone is allowed to start a round between rounds, like the guess when Livio will start the next round, guess how many dogs shos has, ect.

You're also allowed to do this if the round has been judged within 30 hours, but the next guy hasn't started their round within 12 hours of the other round being judged.

The catch is of course that the round could end at any time, because these rounds last until the current round is judged and the next round begins.
You may judge rounds however you'd like, but at the end of the round there can only be one winner.

These rounds will be marked as ".5"s in the previous rounds and winners

You have one post to persuade a staff member to unlock the sarcasm thread.

Unlocking the sarcasm is the stupidest thing ever. I mean, there would be no fun at all gained from it. After all, it's just sarcasm. What's the fun in that?

It's my favorite topic.  It's obviously the best topic that currently exists on the Interguild.

I would be all for it. My original intent was that when perhaps when we wanted to say something with blatant sarcasm, we'd quote the post and respond to it in the thread. But the current method (rarely used) of saying something sarcastic and linking the entire statement to the thread works fine, too. But, no. I've convinced myself that I must unlock that topic now. Or perhaps later, since it's 2am.

I guess this round won't end until someone actually manages to persuade a staff member to unlock the Sarcasm topic?

I just wanna take a moment to express a healthy dose of frustration with the unlocking of the sarcasm topic.

There have certainly been better threads, but in a way, it is actually kinda funny how blatantly bad the humor there is. Perhaps it would be better to just call it the opposite thread or something like that, where you say the exact opposite of what you mean, since that's what the thread really is, as opposed to sarcasm. But all that would do is get rid of the "link-sarcastic-sentence-to-sarcasm-thread" thing that I occasionally do and make the title more accurate.

The good posts on there are the ones that could actually pass off as being normal posts in other threads:

Getting this unlocked was probably the greatest achievement of this site.

But seriously, what are we doing about this one post round?

9/10 great entry. if i was on the staff, i would unlock the thread from this alone.

5/10 there are many higher quality threads in this community, many of them created by the highest quality member, neezles.

8/10 do you know nothing about persuasion?

3/10 I would say this is an accurate statement. without this post, no other staff could have figured this out.

7/10 and indeed it was. however, this is a reply and not an entry, yet i still feel like i have to judge it or else you'll rage at me.

4/10 this was much needed for us. thank you isa.

So wait, did jellsprout win because he did the worst job at convincing the staff to unlock the Sarcasm Thread (got the lowest score), and you didn't want the Sarcasm thread unlocked?

But that can't be, because according to a post you made on the sarcasm thread (" you staff suck. why'd you have to open this?"), you are very grateful for the staff unlocking the thread and praise them for their work. Additionally you said that without jell's post, "no other staff could have figured this out", so I'd think that would give him a higher rating.

Your judging leaves me confused, soccerboy. I am confused.

I told jellsprout to start the round, and as a result jellsprout told other people to convince staff to lock the round, which ended up happening.

Don't give the proletariat false authority. They get an inch, they'll want a foot. Next thing you know, they'll be demanding a Count To 5000 topic, custom karma rates, the :sever: censor, and a Wikipedia page about the site. Squander hope while you have the chance.

COMING SOON: A giant meteor. Please.
