Tips for round winners:

If you don't have a great idea when you learn that it is your turn, don't just make a round that you don't even think is good. Try to think to come up with a good idea for a round, and then if you can't, then make a round that you don't even think is good.

Also you're encouraged to start the round in this format: "You have one post to [what you have one post to do goes here]"

Additionally don't end the round early. Rounds should be at least close to a day long. If you started the round at night, you can't end it tomorrow morning. If you started it in the morning, you shouldn't end it before you go to bed.

Interrounds:
The people running rounds are ideally supposed to judge approximately 24 hours after they start the round, but from now on if they haven't judged after 30 hours (6 hours late) then anyone is allowed to start a round between rounds, like the guess when Livio will start the next round, guess how many dogs shos has, ect.

You're also allowed to do this if the round has been judged within 30 hours, but the next guy hasn't started their round within 12 hours of the other round being judged.

The catch is of course that the round could end at any time, because these rounds last until the current round is judged and the next round begins.
You may judge rounds however you'd like, but at the end of the round there can only be one winner.

These rounds will be marked as ".5"s in the previous rounds and winners

Ingredients
8 slices applewood or other thick, center-cut bacon, from the meat case of market
1 1/2 pounds ground beef sirloin
Worcestershire sauce, for brushing
Olive oil, for drizzling
Grill seasoning (recommended: Montreal Seasoning by McCormick) or coarse salt and black pepper
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, 2 turns of the pan in a slow stream
1 clove crushed garlic
1 pound crimini (baby Portobello) mushrooms, cleaned with a damp towel, sliced
3 or 4 sprigs fresh sage
Salt and pepper
1/4 cup dry cooking sherry
8 ounces fontina or Swiss cheese, thinly sliced
Grainy, stone ground prepared mustard, for passing at the table

Directions

Let meat rest to take the chill from the refrigerator.

Preheat 2 nonstick skillets over medium high to high heat.

Place the meat in a bowl and score it into 4 equal sections and form the meat into patties. Season each patty with grill seasoning. Pour a few tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce into a small dish and using a pastry brush, lightly baste the burgers with sauce. Drizzle a touch of oil into the 1 hot skillet and arrange the burgers. Do not move the meat for 2 minutes. Turn and sear the reverse side to caramelize the meat. Lower the heat slightly and cook 5 minutes longer on each side.

Place bacon slices in the other skillet and cook for 3 minutes on each side, until crisp. Drain fat and reserve bacon. Return the skillet to the stove top. Add 2 tablespoons oil, the garlic and mushrooms to the pan. Thinly slice sage leaves, then add to the mushrooms and season with salt and pepper. Saute the garlic and mushrooms 5 minutes until just tender. Deglaze the pan with dry sherry and scrape up the pan drippings.

Pile the mushrooms on top of burgers, then top with bacon and cheese and cover with lid or foil to melt cheese. Transfer burgers to dinner plates. Pass grainy mustard at the table.

I like how soccerboy questioned part of his judging but apparently didn't question this:
Quote:
5/10 - 1/10 because i'm tired of seeing patrick on imgur + 4/10 for binary opposition (don't cry over split milk?)
7/10
5-1+4 = 7?

I'd say that soccerboy should have been tied with Darvince at 8/10, but actually...

Quote:
5/10 + 2/10 for meta + 2/10 for abstract
8/10

5+2+2 = 8??

Additionally:
Quote:
5/10 + 1/10 for conciseness + 2/10 for text post
7/10

5+1+2 = 7???

Also, look, I found Darvince elsewhere, on the Six Steps topic
